Date night…Is it too soon!? What to ask Charlotte Babysitters
After having a new baby, life changes. Priorities change, your sleep schedule changes, your shower and bathing routines change… pretty much your whole life is turned upside down. But once you start to settle into Motherhood a little bit.. you and your partner might feel out of sync and need to connect a little bit. (sans baby!) At home date nights are always a great idea, but sometimes you just need to get out of the house and that’s OKAY. However you feel is totally fine.
EVERYONE is different. With my first kiddo, I was working full time and wanted to soak up every available minute with my son. I cried the first time I left him to go get my hair cut. He was my tiny little everything. I hated the thought of leaving him ever (even for a date night!) but my husband needed some of my attention too. We did not have family nearby, so we either had to find a baby sitter or a family friend to watch our favorite little man! If you’re in the same boat, here are some some things to consider or ask your potential Charlotte babysitters!
Questions to ask your potential Charlotte Babysitter
Are you trained in CPR?
Do you drive?
Why do you want to be a babysitter?
What do you like about working with kids?
What experience do you have babysitting or working with children?
What would you do in case of an emergency?
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a babysitter?
What’s your favorite age to work with?
It’s not always easy to find babysitter options, but I recommend reaching out to any friends or coworkers that also have children. Chances are they may already have babysitter contacts and that’s already one reference you could check off your list! If you are new to the area or don’t have a lot of connections, join a local Mom’s facebook group in your town and put up a post for recommendations! That way you can get a list of names and contacts and go through them until you find the babysitter perfect for your family!
Here are a few additional local resources you could also check with to interview potential babysitters—
Charlotte has a group called Babysitters of Charlotte that offers nanny, weekend baby sitting, as well as regular week day or night sitters. You can find their info here.
Care.com is another resource that offers local independent babysitters.
Sittercity.com is another option to find local babysitters.
Hope that helps you with your search! If you are looking to have photos done of a little one you are expecting or a child you already have, please don’t hesitate to reach out and contact me to schedule a photo session! I love photographing children of all ages!
