1. Speedway Christmas at Charlotte Motor Speedway:

Start your festive journey with a drive through the dazzling Speedway Christmas lights at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Transforming the iconic racetrack into a winter wonderland, this illuminated spectacle is a treat for the entire family. Tune in to the synchronized radio station for a soundtrack that will have you singing along as you marvel at the vibrant light displays. This event runs through January 7, 2024 and costs $35 per car.

2. Ride the Polar Express:

With two options near Charlotte, you can hop on the actual Polar Express for a completely magical memory making experience. Music, hot chocolate, and cookies along your ride to visit Santa in the North pole makes this an unforgettable trip. Tickets are $35 and up and sell out fast, so check the website today! You can board at the Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC or at the Bryson City Depot in Bryson City, NC.

3. Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden Lights:

Head over to the small town of Belmont to discover a charming hidden gem of Christmas tradition. The botanical garden is transformed with loads of holiday lights and you may even see Santa himself! Open 5:00 pm- 9:00 pm Tuesdays-Sundays. Admission is $15-$25 per person.

4. Ice Skating in Birkdale Village:

This outdoor event means you need to check the forecast before heading out, but if the weather is nice, this is a must do! Open through January 28, 2024, this huge outdoor ice rink provides a magical backdrop to the holidays. There are Christmas lights all around you and hot chocolate available. Check the website for times and book in advance because it fills quickly. You can book 75 minutes for $14-$18 a person.

5. WinterFest at Carowinds:

Experience the thrill of the holidays at Carowinds amusement park during WinterFest. This family-friendly holiday event features festive decorations, live entertainment, and, of course, thrilling rides. The park is transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with a nightly tree lighting ceremony and visits from Santa Claus.

6. High Seas Mini Golf Pirates Christmas:

This is a unique Christmas Activity in Fort Mill, SC wherein a minigolf course transforms into a beautiful light display with awesome photo ops set up throughout. It is open 5:00 pm- 10:00 pm through mid January and a game of golf is $10-$15. Ages 3 and under are free and there is a beer and wine garden on site with refreshments for purchase!

7. Charlotte Ballet's "Nutcracker":

No holiday season is complete without a mesmerizing performance of "The Nutcracker." The Charlotte Ballet brings this timeless classic to life with a spectacular production that captivates audiences of all ages.
