Tis the season for those epic Mommy and Me photos! Mother’s Day just passed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have gorgeous photos with your little one! From floral and fabulous to simple and sweet, there is NO wrong way to capture photos with your children. Moms, we all know you are rarely in the photos because you’re more than likely the one taking them! It’s time (every once in awhile!) for you to hop into those photos to give your kids some memories to look back on as they grow. Plus, you’re beautiful and should feel like it too!

There is no one right answer for what to wear to your photo session except for something you feel AMAZING in! Let’s be honest, if you don’t like what you’re wearing, you’re more than likely going to hate your photos. So be selfish, choose your outfit first, and then we’ll plan the babies outfits around your selection. The best part of my studio is that I have a TON of dresses from boho to glam, to simple earth tones or white dresses. You can stop worrying about what to wear and choose a flattering piece at the studio. Not a dress person? That’s okay too! Honestly jeans and a tee is simple and always looks good in photos. Just imagine you and your little one/s on a gray backdrop with jeans and a white tee or even outside in the tall grasses. We’ll capture you snuggling, laughing, and playing.

I know everyone always wants that photo where everyone is looking at the camera. I promise I will get one of those, even if it needs a few face swaps! But my favorite photos are the ones where you are looking at each other or really laughing and interacting with your family. You can see the true joy on your face and the love that your child has for you. Let’s not make photos stressful, but have FUN! During sessions with me, we often play red light green light for walking photos and most sessions end with tickle fights! Your kiddos can feed off your stress, so let me worry about trying to get those smiles… and you just enjoy your family!
Mommy & Me photos… just do it!
There are literally a million reasons you could come up with NOT to be in photos. But there are also a million reasons why you should! So get pretty (or add hair and make up on to your session and get pretty/pampered at the studio!) and capture some photos with your kiddos to document this fleeting time in your life. My oldest is 13 and youngest is 7 and I do wish I would have captured MORE moments together when they were little because I just miss those squishy little cheeks and those sweet innocent faces.
